Riga's Public transport
system
consists of buses, trams, trolley buses and minibuses. They
run daily from 5:30 till approximately 23:30. Some routes
have a night service every hour.
Tickets are bought on board and cost 20 santimes. Cards
valid for one month of travel can be bought at most kiosks
and from konduktors on board.
For 20 - 30 santims you can take the minibus. You can find
minibus terminal next to the Central Railway station and the
Main Post office. In the streets of Riga minibuses stop only
if you rais your hand.

Taxi

| The
official tariff is 0.30Ls ($ 0,50) per kilometre
during the day, and 0.40Ls between 22:00 and 06:00.
Licensed cabs have yellow number plates. Unlicensed
taxis sometimes turn off the meter and you have to
haggle beforehand. For shorter journeys try not to
pay more than 1.50Ls (< $ 3). Many drivers,
though, will not move for less than Ls 2. |
