The Town Hall Square in late 1950s. As you can see, the St.Peter's Church lacks its tower which was destroyed in the 2WW and restored in 1960s. There is no Melngalvju nams (Blackhead House) and the Town Hall itself which was also destroyed during the 2WW. However, you can already see some Soviet style building on the horizon.
