The building is more than 200 years old, and was formerly the “Jeruzaleme” Tavern, which Garlībs Merķelis and Richard Wagner visited in their time, and which was immortalized in his drawings by Johann Christof Brotze. The poet’s memorial apartment, exhibition hall and garden are open to the public.

At the Museum one can listen to recordings of O. Vācietis’ voice, watch videos, and watch the digital exposition – the “Ojārs Vācietis” multimedia CD.
